National Honor Society Inductions

On Thursday April 26, the Lorica Chapter of the National Honor Society will hold its annual Induction Ceremony at Mallozzi’s Restaurant in Schenectady.  A chicken parmesan dinner will be held starting at 6pm, followed by our traditional candle lighting ceremony at 7 p.m., and concluding with a dessert reception.  Mickie Baldwin will be our guest speaker this year.

All applicants for membership are evaluated on scholarship, leadership, character, and service.  Academically, all sophomore, junior, and senior candidates must maintain a cumulative average of 87.5 % or better.  Leadership and character are determined by input from faculty members, as selected by the students, and active roles in academic, athletic, religious, and service activities.  Service is determined by examining the student’s record of logged service hours.  At the ceremony, each student meeting the above requirements will be “tapped” by one of our current NHS members, and will receive a pin and certificate of membership.  Please contact moderators Kristen Yourno and Adam Biggs if you have any questions.

For all current members and new inductees, please save the date for May 8th for a community service project from 3-4pm after school.
