June 2008 School Exam and Regents Exam links 

 

Please review the exam schedule because it is very important that your child be in school and on time for all final exams. Please contact Mr. Moran if you have any questions at 393-3131 ext. 100.

 

Busing:

  • June 12, 13, & 16 - Usual morning arrival with dismissal time at 11:10 am
  • June 17 - 25 - Usual arrival and dismissal time

 

Dress Code: Students do not have to wear uniforms beginning on Thursday June 12. However, the usual dress down rules apply.

 

Cafeteria:

  • June 12, 13, and 16 - There will be half days during school exams. The cafeteria will be open for breakfast.
  • June 17-26, 2008 - During Regents exams the cafeteria will be open for breakfast and for lunch.

 

Exam information:

  • All regularly scheduled classes end on Wednesday, June 11, 2008
  • June 12, 13, and 16 are school exams. June 17 - 25 are Regents exams.
  • Students who have an exam or a Regents review class need to be in school at the designated times. If your son/daughter does not have an exam or a Regents review class to attend on any given day he/she does not have to be in school.
  • For School Exams (June 12, 13, & 16) and Regents exams (June 17 - 25) students NEED to be in the exam room 15 minutes prior to the start of the exam.
  • If a subject is NOT noted under SCHOOL EXAMS or REGENTS EXAMS on the calendar, the final exam is given during class time or the teacher has assigned a project as a final exam.
  • On days when students need to be in school for an exam only in the morning or only in the afternoon, parents/guardians will need to provide transportation for the designated exam time.
  • On or before June 11 individual teachers will inform their classes of the dates and times for any Regents or Spanish Grade 8 Proficiency review classes.

 

Specific Regents Exams Information:

  • For Regents morning exams: the universal time for all New York State morning exams is 10:00 am and for afternoon exams it is 2:00 pm. This means - the students may NOT hand in their exam for scoring purposes and to leave until that time, and students may not enter the room and start the exam after these times.
  • All morning Regents exams end at 11:15 am.
  • All afternoon Regents exams end at 2:45 pm.
  • Per the New York State Regents/State Education Department: No electronic devices of any kind may be used during a Regents exam. No cell phones may be on; no MP3 players, etc.
  • Camera phones are prohibited. An exam proctor may take the exam away and disqualify the student - and in certain circumstances the entire classes' exams may be nullified.

Textbooks:

  • Student's books from their school district MUST be returned on or before the date each school district specifies. If not, in September students will not be issued books for the 2008-2009 academic year.
  • Regarding the textbook return dates, school districts notify parents via mail or in the newspaper or you may need to phone them. Click here for contact information.
  • Books must be returned to the district that issued the books.
